Project overview
We were instructed to provide a feasibility cost assessment for a standalone educational building, giving the existing nursery additional childcare places.
We coordinated a planning appraisal alongside the feasibility cost exercise, and assembled a specialist team to advise through the planning process, including ecologists.
Our approach
The site needed its infrastructure upgrading before a building could go on it. This included:
Negotiating an upgrade to the existing utility supply, with our connection partners progressing the application for a new electrical supply
Discharging planning conditions and developing the detailed design following a successful application
Tendering the project to four suitable contractors and specialist manufacturers
The outcome
The project was delivered in 2026, on time and on budget.
The scheme included hard and soft landscaping alongside biodiversity net gain enhancements to the wider site, so the work improved the setting as a whole rather than only adding a building to it.
